Message jack up both rear wheels at the diffy. Tranny in neutral, with out letting the diffy output yoke move (but axle allowed to) rock slowly one tire CW and CCW and measure the arc length at the aluminum rim bead at the tire. Is it less than 1/4", good? If 1/2" that is to much consider axle repair, 3/8" marginal.

Now hold the axle from movement and rotate the tire slightly CW and CCW and determine if there is excessive movement at the outer joint usually accompanied by some noise inside the boot.

Now holding the tire from movement (put on E brake) grab the diffy output axle and determine if there is movement at the inner and outer joint and estimate how much arc. On these axles the outer joint usually gets the most wear.

Check the slack in the diffy with tranny in any gear and E brake on by keeping DS from rotation and rock diffy yoke CW and CCW. A small amount of movement should be here but very little unless there is excessive wear inside the diffy? I do not know a spec for total slack across the diffy.
